Hospitality and Summer 2020

As industries adapt to the new normal, post lockdown life is proving to be a little different for many. One industry drastically affected by Coronavirus is the hospitality industry. Rising to the challenges that arrived alongside Coronavirus, the hospitality industry is now prepared and ready for a safe return during summer 2020.

How has the hospitality industry adapted to the new normal?

At the beginning of July, the hospitality industry began to re-open its doors with some new safety measures in place. This included measures such as PPE, social distancing, digital ordering methods and enforcing strict booking systems. As the summer evolves venues have expressed to the public that they are safe and back open for business.

What plans are in place this summer?

August is generally known as a busy time for the hospitality industry, particularly for areas popular with tourists. Families take the time to enjoy themselves away from work or school as summer reaches a peak. To encourage the public to venture out to restaurants and pubs the government has introduced the ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ scheme for the duration of August. Over 53,000 venues have signed up to the scheme and will be offering customers tasty food and drink for less this coming month.
